Derek Truck's musical career began at the age of nine, when he picked up a five dollar acoustic guitar at a yard sale. "It was nothing special," he claims, "It was just the only thing that looked interesting." Within a year, he was touring and is currently the youngest player to make Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list.
The Tedeschi Trucks band is strong in numbers, currently comprised of 11 members... lead by Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks, who have up their individual bands and joined together with a 2011 studio debut.
There are limited Derek Trucks' guitar string bracelets available, and 100% of the profits go to BigHouse. BigHouse is a Christ-centered non-profit ministry in Opelika, AL dedicated to meeting the needs and improving the quality of life of children in foster care. The charity began as the dream of two college students to impact the world of foster care in a positive way. BigHouse is engaging families, volunteers and community members across the state of Alabama to impact their local foster care community. Not everyone is called to be a foster parent, but everyone CAN do SOMETHING. Help do that something! BigHouse spreads their unconditional love and caring through their community, displayed through multiple programs and events.
