American jam band, moe., formed at the University at Buffalo in 1989. The band members are: Rob Derhak, Al Schnier, Chuck Garvey, Vinnie Amico, and Jim Loughlin.

The band's first record, Fatboy (1992), established the band as a favorite of the 1990s jam band and improvisational rock scene that grew in popularity with fans known as "moe.rons."

During an interview, guitarist Al Schnier was asked to describe moe. for those who have never heard their music: "It's an amalgamation of a wide variety of the history of rock, all regurgitated and recycled through the eyes, ears, hands, whatever of the guys in our band and all of that with a sense of adventure, a sense of humor, also a constant desire to push the envelope. All in this arena of taking chances, improvising live, and making things up on the spot."

Kind of awesome.

moe. has toured around the world with greats such as the Allman Brothers, Dave Matthews Band, The Who, Robert Plant, Government Mule, and Blues Traveler!

This “legendary jam band,” as per Rolling Stone, represents rock and roll at its best. Even better? moe. is just hitting their creative stride.
